Melissa Rabinovich has been with Spectrum News NY1 for more than 19 years. As Executive Editor, Melissa oversees NY1’s Local Edition which has programming in Staten Island and Queens as well as NY1’s Rail and Road team, the Spectrum News Licensing Department and NY1’s coverage of Fashion Week in NYC and other lifestyle topics. Prior to NY1, Melissa was the Morning Show producer for News 12 Westchester and the Evening Producer for WICZ in Binghamton. She is a Dean’s List graduate of Binghamton University.
Raised on Staten Island, Melissa is very active in the community. Melissa serves on the Board of Directors at On Your Mark, the Seton Foundation for Learning, the Iron Hills Civic Association, Chromosome 22 Central and the advisory board of Staten Island Tech. She is the former President of the Parent Guild at Seton and a member of the Borough President’s Council for People with Special Needs. Melissa is also active on the special needs committee at the Jewish Community Center.
Melissa has been named a Top 20 under 40 winner by the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, a Top Woman on Staten Island by the Star Network, a Top Woman in Business by the Queens Courier and honored by the Home Reporter in Brooklyn. She also received the Next Generation Award from the JCC, the Media Award from the Iron Hills Civic Association, a Heart of Champion Award by the Frank J. Reali III Family Foundation, a community service award from Eden II and the Genesis Foundation and she was honored by the organization Lifespire for her support of people with developmental disabilities.
Melissa and her husband Oleg reside on Todt Hill and are the proud parents of 14-year-old Ethan, 11-yr-old Dylan and 10- year-old Ava.
