Update on all Wagner College Alumni Events Regarding COVID-19

8/10/2020
Dear Alumni and Friends,
We hope this email finds you well and enjoying your summer. Over 200 alumni and friends have participated in the new virtual programming offered by Alumni Relations over the past several months.
In addition, we wanted to share an update with you regarding the fall semester. With state regulations easing and New York City now in Phase III of reopening, Wagner College will begin our fall semester on Monday, August 24, 2020.
During the 2020-21 academic year, Wagner College will place screening requirements and restrictions on campus visitation. Access to campus buildings will be restricted to students and employees of Wagner College. You can read more about Wagner's restart plan here.
Therefore, for the safety of our community, all alumni events planned for the fall semester will be held virtually. We are excited to announce our first ever Virtual Homecoming and Family Weekend on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19, 2020! While this is new for all of us, we are certain that with Wagner pride, we can make this Homecoming one to remember. We will share more information and the schedule of events for Homecoming in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for other event programming on our calendar here. We will have more information on spring events later in the fall semester.
Sincerely,

Nicolina Astorina
Director of Alumni Relations

Dear Alumni and Friends,
Because our alumni and friends are such valued members of the Wagner community, we believe it is important to keep you informed and updated. Last week, the College announced that the remainder of the spring semester would transition to online classes. View the announcement here.
As you can imagine, our students are feeling a lot of emotions right now, especially our seniors who will miss out on more cherished days on the Oval. It takes time but students and other members of the Wagner community are continuing to adjust to this change. Wagner continues to demonstrate the values that define our community: joy, caring, connection, perseverance and solidarity. This unprecedented situation is one that calls for mutual trust, compassion, good faith, good will, and creativity.
Our new temporary reality means that all events through the end of the semester have been cancelled or postponed, including all scheduled in-person Wagner College Alumni events through May 1st. The health and wellness of our alumni is the highest priority for the Alumni Association. Therefore, the Office of Alumni Relations staff will continue to evaluate upcoming events and programs, including Reunion Weekend. We will provide information on cancellations and postponements via email, on our website, and through our social media channels. The postponement or cancellation of an event creates only a momentary pause in our commitment to bring our Seahawk family together. Visit here to see how you can stay connected.
We also know students would love to hear from you to remind them, no matter where they are, that they are a part of the Wagner family. Share a message of support to Wagner students, advice for telecommuting, or just a positive thought. Send us your message to share with students through Facebook, Instagram, or email us at alumni@wagner.edu. If you want to connect with students on professional industries and career guidance, feel free to email alumni@wagner.edu with your business information that we can share with students who registered for Career Conversations, which has now been cancelled. If you want to assist students through funding, you can make a donation to the "Make A Difference" Fund on our donation page, which will help benefit students through these challenging times. And together, we’ll all feel a little more connected.
Without a doubt, we know that these last few days have brought uncertainty and changes for our Wagner community and the world. No matter what, we are here for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We hope everyone stays safe and keeps well. We’ll pull through this together, as a family.
Sincerely,

Nicolina Astorina
Director of Alumni Relations
