Congratulations to Jazmin Diaz and Noah Wolthausen, this year’s recipients of the Anita Volland Award. This award is presented to the graduating Anthropology major who most exemplifies in his or her work the vision of anthropology practiced by founding department member Anita Volland, emphasizing the importance of the four fields, the centrality of the culture concept, and great intellectual curiosity.
Noah Wolthausen, graduates with a BA in medical anthropology and minors in economics, microbiology and Spanish. He has earned an selective position with the Peace Corp. Jazmin Diaz, graduates as a double major in Anthropology and Spanish. She will sever as a project director for MOCHE Inc, a NGO working with rural communities in north coastal Peru.
