Spotlight on Summer: Filmmaking

We’re gearing up for summer at Wagner! Each week we will explore and go behind the scenes of this year’s summer camp programs at Wagner College.

This week’s spotlight is: Filmmaking Camp

Lights, Camera, Action! filmmakingpic1Discover the art of filmmaking.

The Wagner College Filmmaking camp is designed to encourage and inspire creativity through the art of filmmaking. Each day you child will experience the filmmaking industry through script writing, storyboarding, acting, directing, camera and sound operating and editing to make their own short film.

Our camp helps children develop self-confidence and critical thinking skills while fostering creative expression and collaboration in a fun environment. With an engaging combination of lecture, hands-on exercises, small group activities, writing and discussion, participants:

  • Learn film vocabulary, basic filmmaking technique, and history as a foundation for movie appreciation
  • Create a short film (camera shots, story development, storyboarding, screenwriting, acting, lighting, sound and directing)
