Program Requirements

3.0 GPA must be maintained, B or better must be earned in all graduate courses. Fingerprinting requirement must be completed upon entrance. 

Workshop and certification exams must be completed prior to student teaching and by the end of Fall term.

 

Summer A - Introduction (9 credits)

ED 636     Intervention Strategies for Students with Reading Difficulties
ED 605     Dynamics of Human Relations
ED 650     The Elementary Classroom in an Inclusive Setting

Summer B - Core (9 credits)

ED 601    Learning Environments  for Students with Exceptionalities
ED 600   Curriculum Development and Strategies for Teaching
ED 635   Advanced Studies in Literacy for the B-6 Inclusive Setting

Fall - Secondary Education Methods (9 credits)

ED 613     Inclusive Methods I: Social Studies, PE, & Health
ED 614     Inclusive Methods II: Science, Math, Technology, and Arts
ED 647     Inclusive Methods III: Students with Exceptionalities

Student Teaching Entry Process - must be completed one semester prior to Student Teaching. ALL additional Certification Requirements must be completed prior to Student Teaching as well.

Spring - Clinical Practice (12 credits)

ED 550A    Student Teaching: Inclusive/Childhood Grades 1-3
ED 560A    Student Teaching: Inclusive/Middle Grades 4-6
ED 580G    School, Diversity & Society: Elementary Schools
ED 603      Human Development: Childhood to Pre-Adolescence
