On April 7th, 2022, the English department held its third, virtual open-mic poetry event, once again hosted by Professor Thomas Fucaloro.
The evening included two honored guests from the New York community, Taylor Steele and Patrick Roche. Steele is a queer, black writer, performer, and photographer born and based in New York City. A Pushcart prize nominee, her poetry has been featured on Huffington Post, Brooklyn Poets, and Button Poetry. Roche is an award-winning poet and mental health advocate. Last year, he published a collection of his poems titled A Socially Acceptable Breakdown. Their books are now available to check-out at Wagner College's Hormann Library.
After engaging readings by the guest poets, then Wagner College students joined in with their own poetry.
