Wagner Alumna Elena Rotzokou Presents New Research

Wagner alumna Elena Rotzokou returned to her alma mater to present her new research on the nineteenth-century English poet John Keats to the students in Professor Charlotte Fiehn's EN224 class on Monday, November 18 at 1:00 pm. Her presentation was titled "Keats, Time, and Revolution." Elena graduated from Wagner College in 2021 and then completed a masters degree at Oxford University in 2022. She is currently working toward her PhD at Columbia University.

Since graduating from Wagner, Elena has been a prolific scholar. Her article "Misreading the Air" on the Ethiopian-American novelist Dinaw Mengestu was just published this month in the scholarly journal Ariel -- an article that she began writing for her Senior Learning Community (SLC) at Wagner College with Dr. Steven Thomas and Dr. Ali Arant. She also has a second scholarly essay related to the talk that she will give at Wagner -- this one titled "Repetition and John Clare's Lyric of Withdrawn Revelation" which is forthcoming in The European Romantic Review. She has begun a new research project on the eighteenth-century georgic poem "The Sugar Cane" by James Grainger. After giving her presentation, she talked with Wagner students about her experiences in graduate school.
