The Night Staten Island Choose Dialogue Over Hate
Two months after 9/11, amid pain & sadness, a moment of connection brought hope, as Staten Islanders of all faiths gathered to learn about each other’s faith & values at Wagner College.
We invite you to reignite that spirit of building bridges against hate with Imam Tahir Kukaj, Rabbi David Katz and Lori Weintrob who will be joined by D.A. Michael McMahon, Sadia Malik, Rev. Terry Troia and Fr. Arthur Mastrolia.
Join us to reflect on what really mattered then, 25 years of activism, challenges of politics, war & social media, and paths to move forward today with faith, humanity & dignity for all.
All are welcome! RSVP required to holocaust.center@wagner.edu. Delicious foods, kosher and halal, to be served.
Co-sponsored by the Wagner College Holocaust Center, the Albanian-Islamic Cultural Center, The Staten Island Hate Crimes Task Force, The Bernikow-JCC-SI, The Department of Youth and Cultural Development, and the Muhammad Ali Foundation Compassion Project.
Sports, the Holocaust and Human Rights
Join the Wagner College Holocaust Center and students in SA102 for a guest lecture by Stuart Rankin, grandson of Jesse Owens, on the significance of the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
