The 13th annual Chai Society Community Mitzvah Awards Gala was help on the campus last night and NY1 Executive Editor Melissa Rabinovich was one of the recipients of the Mitzvah award for her commitment to the Jewish community of Staten island.

The organization supports Jewish studies and programming dedicated to the Holocaust and Israel at the college and the award recognizes community members who promote Jewish life and culture.

"We are not only celebrating students that are involved in holocaust education program, at the college, but also those community members that still continue to foster Jewish awareness and promote what Wagner College is doing with regards to the Holocaust Education Center," said Nancy Tricorico, a Board Member with the Chai Society.

Proceeds from the event will support the Wagner College Holocaust Education & Programming Center.
