Heritage Month Programming

The Center for Intercultural Advancement office provides programming and opportunities for all identities to engage in intercultural dialogue, sharing information about different cultures and thrive in New York City. We strive to provide learning opportunities so that Wagner College students can broaden their appreciation of all cultures. The Center serves as a resource for information about internationalization and diversity: a gathering location for formal and informal dialogues; and, the hub for education abroad and advisement whether through short-term Expanding Your Horizon or semester-long programs.

We hope to achieve this by:

  • Through Social Justice Dialogues where members of the Wagner College community can come together to discuss current issues surrounding race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, abilities and much more. Proposed topics with directed/structured conversations with a goal to give individuals an opportunity to share information and bring forward and hot topics of interest to the group are selected by the Center for Intercultural Advancement, faculty, and/or students and marketed under the collaboration.
  • Providing Opportunities for Leadership development.
  • Encouraging collaboration between groups.

How do we do it

At Wagner College, we celebrate the diversity of the institution and the city in which we are located. Every month, along with the rest of the country, we celebrate Heritage Months. We host events that celebrate our representative cultures including, but not limited to, Latinx Heritage Month, LGBT+ History Month,  and  Women’s History Month.
