Explore the most puzzling scientific questions and draw scientific conclusions at the Children’s Science Institute at Wagner College. The program is completely hands-on with experiments that will make science come alive for the science enthusiast. Each week your child will investigate and experiment with a different scientific principle, and there will be several take homes throughout the semester.

Mystery Forensics Investigation (Ages 6-8)

Utilizing real world forensic science methods including fingerprint verification, fiber and liquid analysis and more, our investigative sleuths will work together to solve a puzzling mystery while employing critical thinking skills and team work. We will explore chromotyping and simulated blood typing, all while working together to unravel a most mysterious forensics event. There will be several take homes for our sleuths to show off their newfound investigative skills!

Saturdays, February 2 – May 4 (12 weeks)
No class February 16 or April 20

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Chemistry for Kids (Ages 9-12)

While investigating chemical reactions, students will learn about how new substances are formed and engineer experiments to cause different physical and chemical changes. Get ready to be super hands on with a new experiment each week making substances like slime, silly putty, chalk and more. Best of all, there will be many take homes to show you are a budding scientist. Bring a smock or old shirt, and don’t be afraid to get messy!
