TRAUMA AND YOGA: A BEGINNERS SERIES
Trauma impacts the entire mind-body system, leaving a lasting imprint on our brains. Trauma can cause overwhelming distress and disturbance. The body begins to operate in a constant state of stress. Yoga can help! Practicing yoga releases more GABA (gamma-aminobutryic acid) in the brain’s thalamus, and this is what reduces anxiety/stress and focuses the mind, while increasing levels of happiness. If you have never tried yoga before, there’s no better time than the present. In this beginners series, you will learn foundational poses to help you build a solid personal practice. By taking proactive actions, you will empower yourself to regain control of your mental and physical health.

MINDFUL PARENTING DURING TRAUMA & SENSITIVE TIMES
The pandemic and its associated stressors are likely to have serious ongoing mental health consequences for adults and children. Parenting is first and foremost relational. Mindful parenting means meeting your children where they are at any given moment. It means holding their emotions, listening empathically, and remaining fully engaged as best as you can even when you do not have all the answers. Learn how to incorporate mindfulness into your parenting to support yourself and your family during this challenging time.
