Mindfulness & Yoga Programs

Exercise your body and your mind! The sessions below will focus on techniques to reduce stress and improve your quality of life through yoga, meditation and mindfulness.

Classes will be delivered live virtually. Students will receive an email with classroom access prior to the first class.


YOGA: A BEGINNERS SERIES 

Designed for the individual who wants to begin a yoga practice, but not quite sure how to start. It is also designed for individuals who are looking to build a strong foundation for a personal/home-based daily yoga practice. Each session builds upon the prior session. You must be able to commit to ALL 6 sessions. Note: Yoga mat needed.

UNDERSTANDING TRAUMA: COPING SKILLS FOR REDUCING STRESS FOR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS

This class is a complimentary class to the class designed for kids. In this class, you will learn how to support your child with the feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that come from traumatic or stressful experiences. You will learn common reactions to trauma, coping skills, relaxation techniques, and healthy ways of facing fears and managing stress.

MINDFUL PARENTING

A weekly meeting for parents and caregivers to explore ways to reduce stress, enhance strong family bonds, and explore self-compassion and inner balance while parenting. Anxiety is contagious. So is Calm. Practice being the center of calm for your family. Bring joy back into parenting by learning how to incorporate mindful practices into everyday interactions with your children, spouse/significant other to reduce conflicts and strengthen communication within the family unit.

Melissa Chen is a certified and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) with over 20 years of counseling experience. For more on Melissa’s background visit her LinkedIn profile.  Melissa is also leading two programs for tweens and teens to help develop mindfulness and executive skills.
