Wagner College Marching Band

The Wagner College Concert Band is a 40- to 60-piece symphonic wind and percussion ensemble comprising of college students, advanced high school students and adult community members. Typical music repertoire includes contemporary concert works, classical transcriptions, Broadway show tunes, and patriotic marches. The group performs several concerts each year, both on and off campus.

The group meets Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. each week throughout the fall and spring semesters. Enrollment is open to wind and percussion instrumentalists with prior experience in high school or university/college concert band. Seating auditions normally are held following the first two rehearsals for the semester. High school students must audition in advance. The director of the Concert Band is Robert Rams.

 Audition Date – Open to 10th, 11th and 12th Graders:

Monday, December 5, 2016 – 7 to 9pm at Campus Hall Music Performance Center

Note:  If you are unable to attend this audition, please email for a make-up date

Class Schedule: Mondays, January 23 through May 1 (No class 2/20, 3/13, 4/10)

Format: Performance of one prepared selection before music faculty, performance of a scale on demand to be selected by adjudicator and assessment of sight reading ability.

What to Prepare: Prepare one musical selection in any style to demonstrate ability and talent (length of selection is not critical).  Memorization is not required.  Please bring a copy of your selected piece with you.

Bring: Your instrument. Tuba, Baritone Sax and percussion will be provided. Percussion students should bring their own drumsticks and/or mallets.

Forms:Students must also submit a Band Director/Music Teacher Recommendation Form.
