American Sign Language I (Ages 9 to 16)
American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most widely used language in the United States. It is a visual-gestural-kinesthetic method of communication used by members of the deaf community. In this beginner class students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL and will begin to develop the necessary communication skills to interact with people who are deaf. There will be a “finger spelling quiz” in the beginning of every class to build receptive and expressive skills.
Students will need access to Google Slides and Google Docs in order to complete assignments. Class will meet virtually via Zoom.
