Wagner’s combined Computer Science and Information Systems program emphasizes the practical application of knowledge with a focus on software engineering, systems analysis, and the design and implementation of large-scale information systems for businesses. You’ll take courses in computer science, information systems, and business, with options to focus your studies on software development, hardware design, mathematics, or business computing. This degree prepares you for careers as a programmer, software engineer, systems analyst, network or database administrator, or consultant.

CLASSES OF NOTE

Techniques of Programming

Design and analysis of programs with special emphasis on Object-Oriented programming. Topics such as information hiding, separate compilation, personal libraries and linking, as well as recursive techniques for control and data structures are discussed and implemented.

Computer Architecture

Transistor circuits, gating, sequential circuits, CPU architectures and microprogramming, arithmetic algorithms, interrupts and I/O, basic design of main memory, microprocessor technology, and software considerations.

Electronic Commerce

Provides students with a broad overview of the electronic commerce environment and key issues involved in its implementation. Students are going to learn how to build the front-end, middleware, and backend components that drive electronic commerce.
