    Congratulations to the winners of this year’s undergraduate awards, given at the ceremony held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Foundation Hall’s Manzulli Boardroom.

    Marlene Adolf won the Modern Languages Award, given to recognize outstanding work in the study of modern languages. (Department of Modern Languages, Literatures & Cultures)

    Catherine Anderson won three awards:

    • the Outstanding Service in Communication Award, given in recognition of contributions to one or more of the media organizations on campus (Dean of Campus Life)
    • the Barna Csuros Memorial Award, given to a student seeking to enter law school (Center for Academic & Career Engagement)
    • the Phyllis Andors Award, given for outstanding performance in the study of government and politics (Department of Government & Politics)

    Katarina Andiel won the Douglas Gee Morton Award in Economics, given in recognition of academically outstanding work in economics and good moral character. (Department of Culture & Economy)

    Maria-Iona Andrei won the Jack J. Boies Award for Creative Writing, given for excellence in the annual Creative Writing Competition. (English Department)

    Simon Brewster won the Jack J. Boies Award for Creative Writing, given for excellence in the annual Creative Writing Competition. (English Department)

    Parker Castro won the Interfraternity Council Award, given in recognition of exemplary service and leadership to the Interfraternity Council. (Student Engagement & Activities)

    Terry Charles won the Leader on the Horizon Award, given in recognition of a student who shows promise as a leader on campus. (Dean of Campus Life)

    Alexandra Cole won the Art History Award, given to a student who demonstrates excellence, both in and out of the classroom, in the study of art history. (Department of Visual Arts)

    Christina Dacunto won the Promising Gerontological Nurse Award, given to a junior nursing student who demonstrates promise as a gerontological nurse as reflected in evidence-based clinical performance. (Evelyn L. Spiro School of Nursing)

    Meliti Efthymiou won the Gertrude Aull Award, given to a student with great potential as a psychologist. (Psychology Department)

    Aaron Foreman won the Richard Gaffney Memorial Grant, given to support student art work. (Department of Visual Arts)

    Valerie Guan won two awards:

    • the Community Service Award, given in recognition of commitment to community service through campus organizations (Student Engagement & Activities)
    • the Business Administration Award, given to the student in the Nicolais School of Business with the highest GPA (Nicolais School of Business)

    Gabriela Juarez-Aureoles won the Juliette Tyor Outstanding Student Employee Award, awarded to a high-achieving student who is a student worker. (Center for Academic & Career Engagement)

    Shaelyn Kobrynich won the International Affairs Award, given for outstanding academic achievement in the study of international affairs. (Department of Government & Politics)

    George Lamanna won the Class of 2008 Scholarship, given to a rising senior in recognition of outstanding qualities in academics as well as service to the college. (Dean of Campus Life)

    Madeline Lee won the Special Education Award, given to a student who has done outstanding work in the field of special education. (Department of Education)

    Angela Lynn LoBello won the Biological Sciences Award, given to a student demonstrating the highest academic promise in the biological sciences. (Department of Biological Sciences)

    Arianna Martina won the Outstanding Service in Communication Award, given in recognition of contributions to one or more of the media organizations on campus. (Dean of Campus Life)

    Ian Massaro won the Robert D. Blomquist Memorial Award in Biology, given to an outstanding biology student with good moral character. (Department of Biological Sciences)

    Amanda Medvetz won the C. Wright Mills Award, given to a student with outstanding academic potential who embodies the spirit of sociological imagination. (Sociology Department)

    Til Ocvirk won the Kurt Goedel Award for Excellence in Mathematics, given in recognition of outstanding performance and achievement in the field of mathematics, based on the student’s grade point average and performance in class. Department of Mathematics & Computer Science)

    Josephine Orr won the Dr. Ronald Cross Music History Award, given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the study of music history, keen interest in music history, excellent writing ability and the abiity to transcribe music. (Department of Music)

    Thomas Picone won the L. Willard Knight Memorial Award, given to the fraternity member with the highest academic average and exemplary leadership performance. (Student Engagement & Activities)

    Bridget Quinn won the Academic Excellence Award in Music, given for academic excellence in the study of music. (Department of Music)

    Samantha Rao won the Panhellenic Council Award, given to recognize exemplary service and leadership on the Panhellenic Council and for high academic achievement. (Student Engagement & Activities)

    Eric Spangler won the Special Education Award, given to a student who has done outstanding work in the field of special education. (Department of Education)

    Denisa-Catalina Stan won the Kurt Goedel Award for Excellence in Mathematics, given in recognition of outstanding performance and achievement in the field of mathematics, based on the student’s grade point average and performance in class. Department of Mathematics & Computer Science)

    Casey Taylor won the Simone de Beauvoir French Award, given in recognition of a French Studies major who has achieved the highest distinction in the study of French or Francophone literature. (Department of Modern Languages, Literatures & Cultures)
