Beginning Nov. 1, Angelo Araimo will become Wagner College’s new vice president for institutional advancement, taking over a position that was filled on an interim basis last December by Frank Young, former director of major gifts, when the previous advancement V.P. resigned. Young will stay on to work with Araimo until he retires on Jan. 1, in order to assure a smooth transition.
Araimo is currently Wagner’s vice president for enrollment and planning.
Bob Herr, currently dean of admissions and financial aid, will continue to have responsibility for those operational areas, and will still report to Araimo, who retains oversight of these areas.
Joe Romano, chief of staff and vice president for communications and marketing, will assume oversight responsibility for Wagner’s Athletics Division along with strategic planning responsibility for the college.
Jeff Kraus, registrar and vice provost, will assume oversight responsibility for the External & Summer Programs Office.
Angelo Araimo joined the staff of Wagner College in 1994. Under his leadership, enrollment has grown by 50 percent and the residential population of the college has doubled. He was admissions director at St. Joseph’s College New York from 1989 to 1994. Araimo also taught history at St. Joseph’s College and St. John’s University from 1986 to 1994. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from St. John’s University and has completed all coursework toward a doctorate in global history from St. John’s.
