Last week, the 20th annual Da Vinci Society Dinner took place, continuing a time-honored tradition. Started in the spring of 2000, the society’s purpose is to both promote greater understanding of Italy and to highlight Italian-American contributions to America’s vibrant culture. This year’s awards saw 7 such Italian-Americans honored for their work, scholarship, and dedication.
Da Vinci Scholarship Recipients: Alyssa and Victoria Bizzarro

This year’s DaVinci Scholars, Alyssa and Victoria Bizzarro ’29, represent Wagner’s future.
Alyssa, a Tottenville High School graduate, entered Wagner this fall semester to pursue psychology with the goal of becoming a pediatric occupational therapist. Known for her work ethic, she has been employed since the age of 14, beginning at McDonald’s and now working at Playa Bowls, while balancing academics and community commitments. Alyssa hopes to one day open her own private practice to serve children and families on Staten Island.
Her twin sister Victoria is following her own calling in healthcare, inspired by the compassion of nurses who cared for her late grandfather during his cancer battle. Now a nursing major, she has gained hands-on experience through her internship at GPM Pediatrics, where she worked closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. That experience reinforced her drive to become the kind of nurse who provides comfort and support to children and families in their most vulnerable moments.
Together, the Bizzarro sisters embody the DaVinci Scholar tradition of service and community building.
