Wagner College and distinguished alumni of the Delta Nu fraternity will host the 15th annual Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Delta Nu Memorial outside the Spiro Sports Center.Â
The event honors the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
This year’s ceremony will feature remarks from Fredrick Williamson ’64, H’11, a decorated Vietnam veteran and two-time Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient. A former captain of the Wagner football team, Williamson’s lifelong commitment to service and leadership continues to inspire the Seahawk community.
“Veterans Day reminds us to take a moment and recognize the extraordinary service and sacrifice of those who have worn our nation’s uniform,” said Jenny Kelly ’13, director of alumni and development events. “Having Fred Williamson, one of our own alumni, as keynote speaker makes this year’s remembrance especially meaningful.”
Now in its fifteenth year, the Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony has become a proud Wagner tradition, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and community members to reflect and give thanks. The event is free and open to the public.
