Wagner College hosts Larry Marshall, a veteran Broadway actor, who will share his hour-long presentation highlighting the songs and accomplishments of the incomparable Bert Williams, a Bahamian-born American entertainer known as the Black King of Vaudeville.

Bert Williams (1874-1922) was a superstar in vaudeville, early musicals and silent film. At a time when racial inequality was rampant in America, Mr. Williams broke countless barriers in the entertainment industry. He was the first person of color to star in the Ziegfeld Follies, yet had to go home to a hotel that was separate from his white counterparts. Larry Marshall, a veteran Broadway actor, has created a marvelous hour-long presentation highlighting the songs and accomplishments of the incomparable Bert Williams, a monumental talent who was never given the recognition he deserved. Join us for this "lecturetainment" and marvel at the great Bert Williams masterfully presented by Mr. Marshall.
