Finding Your Voice, Living Your Dream: Understanding Power Dynamics in Relationships

March 26, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Main Hall 12, Staten Island, 10301

According to the Centers for Disease Control, "1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime."

Safe Horizons is an organization whose mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. Join Danalle Hussein, Program Coordinator at Safe Horizons for an informative conversation about how they help women find their way out of abusive relationships and onto a path towards a better tomorrow.

Seating is limited, to RSVP email Sidiq Soulemana as soon as possible. Desserts (Pies) will be served.

The first 18 students who attend will have the opportunity to purchase $20 tickets to see the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway show Waitress on April 17 at 7pm, which confronts issues of domestic violence through the lens of an all female creative team.

Waitress is currently playing at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in Manhattan. Students will be responsible for their own transportation.
