Mandela Day of Service

July 18, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Wagner Union Atrium

Mandela Washington Fellows will be participating in Mandela Day of Service on campus this year and would love for you to join them!

Every year on July 18, the day Nelson Mandela was born, the UN asks individuals and organizations around the world to mark Nelson Mandela International Day (July 18) by making a difference in their community.

On July 18, from 3:00pm-4:37pm, the Mandela Washington Fellows will host an event as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship to celebrate 100 years since Mandela was born and to reflect upon his life and legacy in a sustainable way that will bring about enduring change in our community.

This 67 minutes hunger drive will restock the food pantries affiliated with Project Hospitality on Staten Island. The 67 minutes is to commemorate the 67 years Nelson Mandela dedicated himself to public service.

Donations accepted include non-perishable canned and boxed foods and sanitary products.

Collection boxes have been left at offices around campus. Please donate by Wednesday morning, at which point boxes will be picked up. Each person who donates 10 or more items will be treated to ice cream as part of the Day of Service Drive and Ceremony on 7/18 in the Union Atrium.
