A panel discussion to share the results of a team of Wagner student researchers and place them in the context of larger environmental resilience projects in Staten Island and around New York City.
Katie Mosher-Smith of the Billion Oyster Project will talk about the environmental services that oysters provide. And Pippa Brashear from SCAPE architects will discuss where oysters fit into the Living Breakwater Project, an ongoing $60 million, New York State funded effort to fortify the shoreline of Staten Island in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
