Dr. Kamil Wielecki, professor of anthropology at the University of Warsaw, Poland, was a Fulbright Scholar at Wagner College in 2017-2018. He has done extensive field work in Russia, Moldova, and Kyrgyzstan and has published significant scholarly work on the cultures of post-Soviet republics and the unique political position of Eastern Europe and the Eurasian Steppe, including his book Coping with Uncertainty: Petty Traders in Post-Soviet Russia. Speaking to Wagner College via Zoom from Warsaw, he will reflect on Russia's recent invasion of Ukraine.
