Film Series: Immigration in Italy
This afternoon at 2:30 in the Reynolds House Coffeehouse, please join Prof. Giuseppe Sorrentino and his students in celebrating Italian-American Heritage Month with “La Nuova Italia,” a film series on immigration and Italy. With an immigration crisis still underway in Europe, this retrospective aims to open a conversation on immigration, using the Italian case as an example of both conflict and integration. Today’s film will be “Nuovomondo (Golden Door)” (2006), directed by Emanuele Crialese. Succeeding films, all to be screened in the Coffeehouse at 2:30 p.m., will be “L’America” (Oct. 27), “Quando sei Nato non puoi più Nasconderti” (Nov. 3) and “L’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio” (Nov. 10). Sponsored by Modern Languages and the Italian Club.
