The Vienna Project
The Vienna Project” (2013-2014) was developed as the first public naming memorial in Vienna to simultaneously represent multiple groups of persecuted victims and dissidents of National Socialism, murdered between 1938-1945. A multi-dimensional, interactive, interdisciplinary project occurring in the public space on the streets of Vienna, the project was conceived as a temporary performance of the archives, joining history with memory, and collaboration with participation.
Discussion will include events leading up to The Vienna Project, as well as a preview for a new permanent naming installation that is currently under development and review.
This event is co-sponsored by the Wagner College Chai Society, the Council of Jewish Organization of Staten Island, and the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island.
Please R.S.V.P. for the event at wagner.edu/alumni or contact Stephanie Koch, Donor Relations Coordinator at chaisociety@wagner.edu or 718-390-3225.
