Each year the College recognizes members of our community for their commitment to furthering legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr at our annual MLK Agent of Change Ceremony. This year, we will recognize the following change agents:

Faculty
Dr. Jonathan Blaize, Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences

Dr. Nell Braxton Gibson, will serves as the 2018 MLK Agent of Change Keynote speaker. Dr. Gibson was the first woman to serve on the Board of Trustees at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University and, in 1985, was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree for her work in bringing more women and people of color onto the Board. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and is listed in Who's Who Among African Americans. Dr. Gibson is the former Chair of the New York Diocesan Committee on Reparations for Slavery. Dr. Gibson received the Bishop's Cross from the Episcopal Diocese of New York on November 4, 2016 for her social justice work. She was highlighted in a 2016 New York Daily News article on Unsung Heroes of Civil Rights and in February 2017 was shown with fellow civil rights activists on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.

This event is open to the entire community, and we hope you will be able to join as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King and honor the works of our awardees.
