Through the Night is inspired by Holocaust survivor Vera Gissing's testimony.
A young Jewish girl, Vera treasures her Catholic friend Marta as they grow up in a small town on the outskirts of Prague, Czechoslovakia. Even in the darkest days of the war and despite the risks, Marta maintains her promises to Vera's family despite their religious differences. (USC Shoah Foundation).
