Black History Month Town Hall (off campus)

A variety of Wagner College musicians will perform together in the annual Black History Month Town Hall, a celebration of African American music and culture, on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 12 p.m. at Staten Island’s First Central Baptist Church, 117 Wright Street. The Vocal Workshop of the Universal Temple of the Arts, directed by Jeannine Otis, will perform one selection with the Stretto vocal ensemble and band. Retired Wagner music professor Roger Wesby will receive an award for his contributions to this important gathering of municipal leaders, community activists, musicians, singers, dancers and spoken-word artists.

Stretto includes: current Wagner College students Shawn Tellekamp, Kiersten Gerard, Savannah Yates and Shanon Harris; Wagner alumni Dorian Lake ’02, Anthony Babino ’09 and Steven Babino ’13; and Roger Wesby. They will be accompanied by Andy Graziano ’02 (bass guitar), Tony Regusis (piano), Kris Kaiser (guitar) and Wagner instructor Jerrold Kavanagh on drums.
