Graphic Novelist, Brendan Leach (Iron Bound, The Pterodactyl Hunters in the Gilded City) discusses the broad visual language of comics, covering works by Ernie Bushmiller, Art Spiegelman, and Chris Ware, and how their illustrations fed the extraordinary explosion of graphic novels and comics in the past several decades.
This event will incorporate a screening of mostly student-made films, from Wagner and beyond, and information about the upcoming 2018 midterm elections. Students will also have an opportunity to register to vote. This event is intended to get students to share their own political commentary in film as well as raise awareness about the elections.
