Inter-generational Transmission in Families of Survivors of Mass Trauma

Dr. Irit Felsen will explore anxiety and other post-traumatic reactions in survivors of mass trauma and their descendants. This talk will be particularly meaningful for those interested in a better understanding of the long-term effects of trauma.

She will explore also the particular strengths that came with surviving the Holocaust and genocide and its relevance in the current moment.

Dr. Felsen will be joined by families of Holocaust survivors who will be able to share some of their own personal experiences.

Irit Felsen, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma and traumatic loss, with a special focus on Holocaust survivors and their descendants. Beyond her work in private practice, she currently serves as a member of the Yale University Genocide Trauma Research Group and is an adjunct professor at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University.
