Move-in week is here: Meet some of the Seahawks who know Wagner best

Move-in week is here, and that means the newest Seahawks are about to meet some of the students who know Wagner best! Our orientation leaders will be there to help you find your way around campus, meet new people, get involved and, most importantly, feel at home.

Renata Ziganova is a neuroscience major from Kazan, Russia, and a member of the Wagner Fencing Team. You can often find her favorite campus spot, the Oval, buzzing with activity. Renata is looking forward to helping new students meet people and settle into their new environment. Renata hopes the incoming freshman enjoy the moment, and remember that time goes faster than you think.

Manny Abuin is a Staten Island native and in the PA program. When he’s not in class, Manny stays busy with Theta Chi Fraternity, the Marching Band and the TTRPG Club. His favorite place on campus is the Oval because, as he says, “anything can happen there.” Manny loves Wagner’s diversity and believes getting involved is one of the best ways to experience college.

Nick Bates is an Arts Administration major with a minor in Dance Studies from Waterbury, Connecticut. He’s involved with Theta Chi Fraternity, the Inter-Fraternal Council, the Admissions Office and SGA. His favorite campus hangout? The park bench overlooking the tennis courts. Nick’s biggest piece of advice for new students is simple: “Don’t be afraid to say yes to things.” You never know where that “yes” might lead.

Dayshalin Tapia is a New York City native studying Theater Performance & Design, Technology, and Management. She’s been involved with Songfest and works as a Conference Assistant. Her favorite spot on campus is the Oval. Her advice? Remember to be yourself! College can feel like everyone else has already found their people, but they haven’t, and the best friendships happen when you’re authentic.
