On Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. in the Coffeehouse, noted jazz guitarist Francis Jacob and actress Irene Jacob, a brother-and-sister duo, will return to Wagner College to perform material from their new album, “Je Sais Nager (I Can Swim),” along with new material being developed for their next recording. The Jacobs will once again be backed by Pichio Ballumbrosio (Peru) on percussion and Mamadou Ba (Senegal) on bass.
Irene Jacob played the female lead in Krzysztof Kieslowski’s “Red,” the final installment in the Polish director’s “Trois Couleurs” trilogy.
Francis Jacob, whose 2007 album “Side by Side” was documented with an interview on Jason Crane’s “The Jazz Session,” is the husband of Wagner College professor Margarita Sanchez.
You can read more about the Jacobs, and listen to sample tracks from “Je Sais Nager,” on their PR page.
