Wagner College continues to excel in national rankings, as the 2025 US News & World Report attests.
Wagner rose to number 60 in the Regional Universities North category, up nine spots from the 2024 rankings released last fall. Wagner was ranked a top-50 Best Value School, and climbed 13 points in the category Top Performers on Social Mobility, to number 127 nationally.
US News’ annual rankings follow closely the release of the 2025 Washington Monthly ratings, which put Wagner at number 161 out of 589 national universities that graduate a significant number of master’s students. Washington Monthly focuses on schools that create upward mobility for students, conduct research and promote public service.
“Wagner does not pursue rankings — we offer solid academic preparation and excellent student services, and the world takes notice,” said President Jeffrey A. Doggett, Ed.D. “We’re happy that our work is acknowledged and appreciated.”
And Money Magazine’s fall rankings of 745 schools awarded Wagner four out of five stars, naming it one of America’s Best Colleges. The Money rankings incorporated measures such as graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid and average alumni salaries.
Earlier this fall, the Princeton Review Best Colleges edition listed Wagner among its unranked “390 Best Colleges” in the United States. It also cited Wagner among the “Colleges that Create Futures” for students and put the college on the “Best in Northeast” list.
Rosa Santana, Wagner’s director of career planning and development, said the college’s recognition for building mobility and graduating successful alumni stems from “our commitment to career-readiness programming, training and resources.
“That commitment empowers students to navigate their unique paths, while ensuring robust development and placement opportunities through our networks and partnerships,” she said. “Together, we cultivate the leaders of tomorrow, equipped for success in a dynamic world.”
Based on student surveys, Princeton also rated Wagner in second place nationally on its Best College Theater list.
“Our rise to the number 2 spot is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff and students, as well as the enduring quality of our program,” said Michelle Siemens, general manager of Wagner College Theatre.
