Wagner College has welcomed its largest first-year class in more than a decade, while earning national recognition.
More than 450 first-year students, along with 69 transfer students and 151 graduate students, arrived at the Grymes Hill campus for the first day of classes on Aug. 26.
They settled into campus as The Princeton Review again named Wagner one of its 390 Best Colleges in the United States for 2025, out of nearly 4,000 degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the country.
Wagner was also named one of the best schools in the Northeast, and one of 50 “Colleges That Create Futures,” which recognizes schools that “empower students to discover practical applications for their talents and interests through experiences that complement their classes and coursework.”
Wagner’s campus theatre program was ranked No. 2 in the United States. It has been a Princeton top-10 program consistently for nearly 30 years.
“What’s particularly rewarding is the recognition we have earned for experiential education opportunities, which are such a critical piece of a modern college education,” said Jeffrey A. Doggett, Ed.D., who took office as Wagner’s 21st president on July 1.
“We are a community that supports students and helps them find paths to success,” he said. “I’m proud that Wagner’s commitment is being celebrated.”
