An announcement from President Joel W. Martin:
I am writing to share the college’s revised face covering and employee campus access policies, effective June 1. These revised policies are made in accordance with city, state, and federal health regulations and recommendations.
FACE COVERING POLICY
This policy applies to all college employees, students, and visitors to campus. Face covering requirements vary based upon whether an individual has completed the full course of an FDA-authorized vaccine against Covid-19.
Any individual may continue wearing a face covering anywhere at any time even when not required to suit their level of comfort.
Outdoors, face covering and social distancing are OPTIONAL for vaccinated individuals. Either a face covering or six feet of physical distancing is REQUIRED for unvaccinated individuals.
In indoor common areas, face coverings are still REQUIRED regardless of vaccination status. Indoor common areas include any indoor areas in which large groups of people come into close proximity, including the dining hall and other dining venues, the library, the bookstore, hall common rooms, building lobbies, public vestibules, shared elevators, and classrooms in use for in-person academic classes.* College-owned vehicles with passengers such as the shuttle vans are also covered under the indoor common areas policy.
In indoor private areas, face coverings are OPTIONAL for vaccinated individuals and REQUIRED for unvaccinated individuals. Indoor private areas include all college offices including shared spaces, office hallways, conference rooms, and any other indoor meeting space, including classrooms not being used for in-person academic classes.*
*The college has not revised its mandate of face coverings during in-person academic classes. Guided by evolving health regulations and recommendations, the college will determine and communicate a relevant policy prior to the start of fall semester 2021.
EMPLOYEE CAMPUS ACCESS POLICY
This policy applies to college employees. Campus access during Summer 2021 will not require prior approval, however employees who are not scheduled to report to campus but wish to do so (such as faculty members visiting their offices on campus) must notify the Office of Human Resources using this form to enable contact tracing.
We thank all members of the Wagner community whose commitment to abiding by the college’s Covid-19 policies has allowed a successful completion of the academic year.
Best,
Joel W. Martin, Ph.D.
President
