On April 24, the Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College welcomed seven students into Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. The induction ceremony, held on campus, recognized the academic excellence and civic engagement of students in the field of political science.
Professor Patricia Moynagh, faculty advisor for the honor society, led the ceremony, joined by fellow department faculty members. After formally inducting the students, the event featured a keynote address by Eric Aldrich, Diplomat in Residence for New York and New Jersey, who offered insights on careers in public service.
The 2025 inductees are Marcelo Vazquez, Eric Szepietowski, Elisa Parazzi, Geanice Morales, Emma Brooks, Semie Baftjari, and Shavini Wijesekera (not pictured). Family members, friends, and members of the campus community gathered to celebrate the honorees and their achievements.
Pi Sigma Alpha, founded in 1920, is the only honor society for college and university students of political science and government in the United States. Membership is reserved for upper-level students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance in political science coursework.
