Wagner College Theatre invites students, staff, faculty and the broader community to dive into the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss with the production of "Seussical." This vibrant musical combines the cherished tales of Dr. Seuss, bringing together fan-favorite characters like the wise Cat in the Hat, the faithful Horton the Elephant, the flamboyant Mayzie La Bird, and the imaginative Jojo, among many others.
Directed by Joey Donnelly and with music under the baton of Dr. Lauri Young, "Seussical" is more than just a play. Organizers say it is an homage to the boundless imagination of childhood coupled with the wisdom of age and a celebration of the courage to believe in the unbelievable and the power of faith against all odds.
"Seussical" is not just for children but for anyone who cherishes the joy, playfulness, and boundless imagination of Dr. Seuss's world. As Michelle Siemens, Theatre General Manager, puts it, "Theatre is where we come together for a shared experience of imagination, joy, and play." This production is particularly special as it features nods to Wagner College's own, with Tony Award Winner and Professor Michele Pawk and alumna Janine LaManna having graced the original Broadway cast.
For those introducing little ones to the magic of theatre, "Seussical" is an excellent start. A "How to see your first show" booklet is available to make their first theatre experience unforgettable. Reach out to michelle.siemens@wagner.edu for a copy.

Performances are scheduled from April 25 through May 4, with evening shows at 8:00 p.m. and matinees at 2:00 p.m. at Wagner College Theatre’s Main Hall Theatre. The enchanting world of Dr. Seuss awaits at One Campus Rd, Staten Island, NY, where parking is conveniently available for theatre patrons.
