    At the 2022 Undergraduate Awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 26, Wagner College recognized these thirty-six students for outstanding achievement in a variety of fields of study and service. Congratulations!

    Magdalena Aleksovska won the Internationalization Action Award, given by the Center for Intercultural Advancement. This award is given to a student who has furthered, exemplified or supported internationalization issues at Wagner College.

    Anastasia Antoniou won the Richard Gaffney Memorial Grant, given by the Department of Visual Arts. This award is given to support student work in art.

    Lennox Apudo won the Kappa Mu Epsilon Award, given by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. This award is given in recognition of excellence in service and leadership as a mathematics or computer science major.

    Peter Arbitrio won the John ’53 and Gloria Deane Award, given by the Department of Culture and Economy. This award is given for academic excellence in and the desire to pursue work in the field of environmental sciences.

    Sara Cascio won the Economics Department Award, given by the Department of Culture and Economy. This award is given in recognition of academic excellence in the field of economics.

    Simon Cawley won the Verrazano Memorial Prize, given by the Department of History. This award is given in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in the study of history.

    Alicia Cohen won the Panhellenic Council Award, given by the Office of Student Engagement and Activities. This award is given to recognize exemplary service to and leadership in the Panhellenic Council, and for high academic achievement.

    Max Crowder won the Lee Yorgey Davidheiser Prize in Chemistry, given by the Department of Physical Sciences. This award is given in recognition of academically outstanding work in chemistry.

    Bridget Damon won the Robert de Csipkes Memorial Prize for Research Potential, given by the Department of Psychology. This award is given in recognition of outstanding research potential in psychology.

    Alicia Kate Erlandson won the George G. Hackman Prize in Religious Studies, given by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. This award is given to the student with the highest academic average for all courses taken in the religion minor.

    Julia Francis won the Jack J. Boies Award for Creative Writing, given by the Department of English. This award is given for excellence in the annual creative writing competition.

    Jaylen Gray won the Academic Excellence Award in Music, given by the Department of Music. This award is given for academic excellence in music.

    Zoe Krofchik won the Outstanding Service in Communication Award, given by the Division of Campus Life. This award is given in recognition of contributions to one or more of the media organizations on campus.

    Ava La Gressa won three awards:

    • the Class of 2008 Scholarship, given by the Division of Campus Life to a rising senior in recognition of outstanding qualities in academics as well as service to the college;
    • the Outstanding Service in Communication Award, given by the Division of Campus Life in recognition of contributions to one or more of the media organizations on campus, and
    • the Phyllis Andors Award, given by the Department of Government and Politics for outstanding performance in the study of government and politics.

    Angelina Massarolli won the Socrates Prize, given by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. This award is given to a student with outstanding thought related to human concerns in a community.

    Francesca Mavica won the Leader on the Horizon Award, given by the Division of Campus Life. This award is given in recognition of a student who shows promise as a leader on campus.

    Caitlin McGuire won the Kurt Goedel Award for Excellence in Mathematics, given by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. This award is given in recognition of outstanding performance and achievement in the field of mathematics, based on the student’s grade point average and performance in class.

    Amanda Medvetz won the C. Wright Mills Award, given by the Department of Sociology. This award is given to a student with outstanding academic potential who embodies the spirit of sociological imagination.

    Allyson Meehan won the Gertrude Aull Award, given by the Department of Psychology. This award is given to the student who has the greatest potential as a psychologist.

    Joy Muller won the Business Administration Award, given by the Nicolais School of Business. This award is given in recognition of the student in the Nicolais School of Business with the highest GPA.

    Grace Murphy won the Jules Elle Bittner Promising Pediatric Nurse Award, given by the Evelyn L. Spiro School of Nursing. This award is given to a student who has demonstrated clinical excellence and compassion in a pediatric setting.

    Til Ocvirk won the Wagner College Prize in Mathematics, given by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. This award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement in mathematics.

    Devon Pauline won the Eva Lazar Gabriel Music Award, given by the Department of Music. This award is presented to an excellent student who shares the love for music cherished by Professor Eva Lazar Gabriel.

    Gia Pecorella won the Gertrude Aull Award, given by the Department of Psychology. This award is given to the student who has the greatest potential as a psychologist.

    Gabrielle Perraudin won the Douglas Gee Morton Award in Economics, given by the Department of Culture and Economy. This award is given in recognition of academically outstanding work in economics and good moral character.

    Kevin Roach won the Community Service Award, given by the Student Government Association. This award is given in recognition of commitment to community service through campus organizations.

    Charles Rudalavage won the Rev. Piotr Pilch Prize in Fine Arts, given by the Department of Visual Arts. This award is given to an outstanding and promising art student.

    Claudia Salas Gimenez won two awards:

    • the International Affairs Award, given by the Department of Government and Politics for outstanding academic achievement in international affairs, and
    • the Simone de Beauvoir French Award, given by the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures in recognition of a French studies major who has achieved the highest distinction in the study of the French language or Francophone literature.

    Victoria Sam won the Bonner of the Year Award. This award is given to a student who exemplifies the Seahawk spirit of civic engagement and leadership through ongoing community work, democratic engagement and reflective practice.

    Alyssa Slaven won the Special Education Award, given by the Department of Education. This award is given to a student who has done outstanding work in the field of special education.

    Athanasia Theofilopoulos won the Gordon McEwan Endowed Award in Archaeology, given by the Department of Culture and Economy. This award is given to a student undertaking field work in archaeology.

    Jenesee Tripp won the Michele Connors Tellefsen ’71 Alpha Delta Pi Leadership Award, given by the Office of Student Engagement and Activities. This award is given to a dedicated leader in the Gamma Pi Chapter as she transitions from active to alumna membership.

    Maia Vitoratos won the Biological Sciences Award, given by the Department of Biological Sciences. This award is given to a student demonstrating the highest academic promise in the study of the biological sciences.

    Oscar Wang won the Robert D. Blomquist Memorial Award in Biology, given by the Department of Biological Sciences. This award is given to an outstanding biology student with good moral character.

    Emma White won the Interfraternity Council Award, given by the Office of Student Engagement and Activities. This award is given in recognition of exemplary service to and leadership in the Interfraternity Council.

    Alyssa Zillini won the Kurt Goedel Award for Excellence in Mathematics, given by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. This award is given in recognition of outstanding performance and achievement in the field of mathematics, based on the student’s grade point average and performance in class.
