“Arcadia”, an exhibition at Wagner College’s Union Gallery, features works by painters Abigail Dudley and E.M. Saniga. The artists, whose friendship began with a landscape residency on Saniga’s historic Pennsylvania farm, explore the poetry of observation in their paintings. Dudley, known for her atmospheric color and blurred compositions, contrasts with Saniga’s naturalistic landscapes. Curated by Steven Harvey, “Arcadia” opens on November 13 and runs through February 7, 2025.
The exhibition is accompanied by a PDF album featuring an essay by art critic John Yau, adding insight into the artists' work, themes, and unique styles. In a recent review, Yau describes Dudley’s paintings as "a synthesis of the seen and the imagined," capturing a wonderful, dream-like quality.
