Congratulations to Vocal Synergy, an all-women's a capella vocal group from Wagner College, who won first place at the Mid-Atlantic ICCA Quarterfinals competition Saturday night at Rutgers University. Here's a very short video clip of their win:
And another clip of their encore performance:
ICCA, by the way, is the International Championship of Collegiate a Cappella.
Next step: the Mid-Atlantic Semifinals on Saturday, March 29, 7 p.m., at Rutgers. (Tickets are $25 general admission, $20 students.) If they win that, they will go on to the finals at New York's Town Hall on April 26 -- "which is a huge, huge deal in the world of collegiate a cappella," according to adviser Sara Klein.
"There was a huge crowd from Wagner" at Saturday's quarterfinals, Klein added. "It was truly awesome to watch them ... the absolute best performance I've ever seen from them, and I've been their adviser since their inception 7 years ago. And so great to have such an enthusiastic Wagner fan base there to cheer them on!"
