Wagner College kicked off the beginning of May with the return of the Celebration of Scholarly & Artistic Student Work, a campus wide event providing students from all majors and disciplines the opportunity to showcase their academic and creative achievements. The celebration, now in its second year, is built off the success of its inaugural run last year. This event is an opportunity for all Wagner students to show off their research and innovations while promoting career readiness.
“The students taking part in this Celebration are being rightly applauded for their outstanding work.” President Jeffery Doggett said. “I hope you enjoy — and learn from — the work on display.”Â
Over the course of five hours, nearly 350 students presented 175 projects. The topics spanned from cardiovascular studies in the Bronx, creative methods on how to best inspire music and singing in sixth grade classrooms, original creative writing works, and more.Â
“Seeing the talents and goals our students are honing every day on full display was both energizing and inspiring,” said Nicole DeStefano, Director of Development & External Relations, who co-chaired the event with Siobhan Walsh. “It was a valuable opportunity to celebrate these achievements with the campus community and gain a glimpse into the positive impact the next generation will have."
The event was open to the public, with faculty, staff, and alumni encouraged to attend and ask questions.Â
The day ended with the Undergraduate Awards ceremony, which recognizes the achievements of students both in and out of the classroom, followed by a well-deserved donut-filled happy hour out on Forchelli Terrace, and a late-night celebration at the Pub.Â
