Michael “Mike” Driscoll, Ed.D., has been appointed interim dean of the Nicolais School of Business at Wagner College. He brings more than 28 years of global finance experience and over a decade of academic leadership to his new role here on campus.
A former Wall Street trader specializing in the energy and aerospace sectors, he has held senior positions with E.F. Hutton, Smith Barney, Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette, Credit Suisse, and Bear Stearns as well as the Global Head of Trading at a hedge fund.

Since moving to higher education in 2010, Driscoll has served as a clinical professor and executive-in-residence at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y., and as dean of the Bolte School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD., where he advanced experiential learning initiatives, integrated industry-standard tools, and strengthened alumni and employer engagement.
A native New Yorker, Driscoll is excited to return to the city where he grew up.
“It’s always been the center of the universe to me, and I think the rest of the world. Wagner has this opportunity and advantage to be in New York City. Everything takes place in New York,” Driscoll said.
When asked about his vision for the Nicolais School of Business, Driscoll shared: “I would love for the term ‘Nicolais’ to be self-explanatory, taking its rightful place among the top business schools in the country. I want the school to be known, for people to recognize the quality of the students that we’re producing, how knowledgeable they are, how worldly they are, and how New York they are.”
Reflecting on the state of the educational journey, Driscoll added: "I am also very encouraged by the vision and plan that President Doggett has begun enacting to ensure that Wagner will prevail in the challenging environment of higher education."
Driscoll holds a B.S. from SUNY Maritime College, an M.B.A. from Adelphi University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Driscoll was also awarded a Fulbright Specialist award from the US State Department and worked at the University of Galway, Ireland in 2017.
