Academic Requirements:
- An earned bachelor’s degree
(3 to 4 years of full-time study; in any field, from a regionally accredited US institution) - 3.0 minimum overall GPA
(4.0 scale) - B- minimum individual prerequisite course grades
- All prerequisite coursework completed (w/recorded grades) prior to program start
- Sciences & Math GPA and individual grades in college-level science and math courses taken into consideration
Necessary Documents:
- One current resume or curriculum vitae
- Two professional letters of reference
I.e. professors and/or employers - All official transcripts from accredited US colleges or universities attended
Required Observation:
- 40 hours of verified in-person volunteer or paid hours under licensed OTR/L across a minimum of two different practice areas/settings.
- Virtual experiences not totaling more than 20 hours may be substituted for a portion of in-person experiences²
Required Health Professional Skills:
- Current CPR Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

International Applications Requirements:
- Official copy of post-secondary school transcripts in original language of issue, accompanied by a certified English translation and evaluation. Transcripts must be evaluated on a course by course basis by a NACES Member.
- Proof of English language proficiency is required via minimum TOEFL iBT score of 100.
Additional Prerequisite Policies
- All prerequisite coursework must be completed (with recorded grades) prior to program start.
- Minimum grade of B- in each prerequisite course.
- Course credit for all prerequisites must be granted by a regionally accredited US college or university. CEU/PDU completion certificates or non-standardized, atypical, or random credit hour calculation awards for courses will not be considered.
The one exception to this requirement is the Medical Terminology course requirement, which may be completed online through one of the following organizations who will provide a certificate verifying course completion (direct Medical Terminology course link provided).

Related Admissions Policies
Due to the distinct nature of the graduate-level OTD program curriculum, the Wagner College Occupational Therapy Program cannot consider, nor offer, advanced program placement options; transfers of credit or courses; or credit for experiential learning or work experience. Specific work experience is not required for program admission, however prospective students should refer to the program’s admissions criteria above related to OT observation hours.
