Mission:
The Wagner College Doctor of Occupational Therapy program prepares students to become exceptional, reflective practitioners who will optimize the health and occupational wellness of those they serve and inspires them to reach their highest levels of achievement as lifelong practice scholars and ethical leaders.
Vision:
The Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Wagner College will be considered a preeminent occupational therapy program in the New York City area by virtue of its:
- Community of students and graduates who are interprofessional leaders influencing today’s evolving health care and practice environments; highly valued by their faculty colleagues, experiential mentors, and the clients they serve; and highly sought-after by potential employers.
- Faculty who are respected and recognized for their learner-centered approach to the teaching-learning process and their scholarly and service-based contributions to the occupational therapy profession, Wagner College, and the Staten Island community.
- Practical curriculum model, core values, and philosophies that frame the focused preparation of its students and their development into exceptional and reflective entry-level occupational therapy practitioners.
