WCT’s New Musical Incubator Launches in 2019

WCT kicks off its New Musical Incubator with Phantasmagoria:  A Benefit for WCT on February 9th in the Music Performance Center.  Coordinated by Music Director Dr. Lauri Young with performances by WCT faculty and Broadway veterans Theresa McCarthy, Wendy Cavett, and Michele Pawk along with renown faculty and musicians, including David Sisco, Amy Williams, and more.

In 2019, WCT offers new classes dedicated to musical performance, such as Bistro Award winner Amy Williams teaching a course on “Cabaret,” while author of Contemporary Musical Theatre David Sisco teaches “New Musical Workshops.” WCT is also the first college in the country to incorporate Sheri Sander’s “Rock the Audition” into its college curriculum.

This spring WCT will also host Broadway music director Jeffrey Saver as well as The Wild Party, Hello Again, and Queen of the Mist composer Michael John LaChiusa as artists-in-residence.

Directed by Tony Award-winner and WCT professor Michele Pawk, with music direction by Wendy Cavett. This annual spring-semester event features the class of 2019 performing for invited agents, managers, casting directors, producers, musical directors and industry professionals in New York City.


Premiering in Stage One is a workshop production of Gabriel Jason Dean, Jessie Dean, and David Dabbon’s “Our New Town,” directed by Theresa McCarthy.
