Dr. Groth on Sabbatical Leave

Dr Groth is on sabbatical leave for Spring Semester 2015. During this time he will be carrying out research on boys' and men's well-being in Western developed countries. In this connection, he will complete the designing of a 31-course graduate program on male studies, the first of its kind. He will also be meeting with scholars, clinicians and policy-makers in Australia and New Zealand where he will present papers and associated proseminars on risk factors associated with suicide in youth and college-age men and among middle-age men. He will also speak on the existential approach to working with these populations and its efficacy in comparison with other treatment modalities. The sabbatical will include completing the editing of A New Male Studies Reader for graduate and undergraduate students. Eventually, the volume be included in the bibliography of his course on "The Psychology Boys and Men" offered at Wagner. Recently appointed a co-director of the Australian Institute for Men's health and Studies, Dr Groth will continue to edit New Male Studies: An International Journal.
