Why did you decide to major in Sociology? I knew that I always wanted to work with people in some way, I just was not sure what way. Sociology really helped me understand how populations as a whole worked and how they were effected at a macro or mezzo level as opposed to just on a micro level.

How has your Sociology degree (what you learned in your classes, readings, assignments, etc.) helped you in your job (and personal life)? My Sociology degree opened my eyes to the bigger picture and has really helped me understand the different cultures and family structures with which I work. If I didn’t have that background I don’t think my clinical interventions would be as effective in my current job.

What is your fondest memory of a Sociology class? ... some of the friendships I have built with the people in them. A lot of whom I still speak with today.

Do you have any tips for current Wagner (Sociology) students? Be open minded and never stop learning.
