Allen F. O'Connell '76, a research ecologist at the US Geological Survey's Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, is senior editor and co-author of a book on a new field of ecological research: the use of remote photography and infrared sensors to study animal populations in the wild. The research presented in Camera Traps in Animal Ecology (Springer, 2011) may contribute to the conservation of such endangered and elusive animals as tigers and jaguars as well as many others.
O'Connell came to Wagner College this spring to share his knowledge with students; read about it in "Guest Lecturers."
