Professors Linda Raths (biology) and John Esser (sociology) have each taught 21 First-Year Learning Communities — every year since 1998, the year that the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts was launched.

As Wagner celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Wagner Plan, Wagner Magazine assembled a few impressive numbers that portray its impact: Under the Wagner Plan curriculum, 418 First-Year Learning Communities have been taught by  148 different professors.

Many professors have taught many more than one First-Year LC since 1998. Alison Smith (history) and Anne Schotter (English) hold the record for the most times teaching First-Year LCs together.

About 30 percent of living Wagner alumni — 6,450 people — have completed the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts.
